Here is the thing with corruption of people in power: most think they aren’t big enough to fight it and we are all just stuck being under the thumb of criminal enterprises and have to tolerate status quo. All of that is lie from the pit of hell from where these skums come from. The truth sets us free. We have see Iraq under the thumb of Sadaam Hussein struggle to understand freedom, that they have been liberated, and to assert those freedoms our men and women in uniform died to give them same as our founding forefathers. You don’t have to tolerate crime even from those in power, you don’t have to tolerate status quo, and you don’t have to put up with threats. You can fight back. It’s just when you do fight that kind of wicked, you do it with a vengence and you don’t back down and you understand they are never going to do the right thing because it’s the right thing so compromise is not an option. They have no intention of behaving with dignity because they don’t know how. Even the mafia had rules on how women and kids are treated so to those who cannot even honor and respect women and children, they have no rules. Had our founding forefathers whimped out, made excuses, shrugged their shoulders and said “Oh well. I guess that’s just the way it is. We can’t fight someone so big as England with all their resources when we have nothing like that. I guess we just have to accept that we are their slaves.”, Imagine what our country would look like. Thank God they believed no such thing. Greatness and heroes cannot exist without adversity. But backing off in the face of adversity has to be something you simply are not able to do. When corruption prevails, it’s only because nobody bothered to call it what it is and fight it. ““The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” ― Edmund Burke so do something that you can put your name on with pride and not have to lie about and cover up.
When Cynthia was a kid her granddad was Chief of Police. A city councilman began having an affair with the dispatcher and would come in and take up all her time flirting. Her Granddad told him he was interfering with police business and needed to respect his wife and cut it the hell out. The guy got pissed off and formed a committee within the city council that pretty much took over the police department. Her Granddad fought that for awhile then resigned and later himself became a city councilman. At the end of the day though, because he did the right thing just because it was the right thing to do, the police station was named in his honor and his name on the from door of Roswell Police Department to this day. Nobody even remembers the other guy who so viciously attacked him and did so publicly. He’s a nobody. Her Granddad is still honored even now. When he died her Granny received hundreds of letters from the community telling her how Chief Hall changed their lives for the better. He lived his life with honor, faced adversity and handled it like a boss. He believed law enforcement is called to relieve suffering caused by crime and status quo and corruption are simply not something we tolerate. He also did not believe you half ass anything and if you can’t do it right, don’t bother us all with your half ass work. Go big or go home. Someone else will do what you are too lazy to do. Imagine how much more pleasant our world would be if everyone refused to put their name on things corrupt or status quo. It really should not be an option for any of us. We don’t, as it turns out, have to put up with it nor should we. When Cynthia has been threatened by Charles Perry with death, false arrest, even still, and financial loss she does not back down and never has. Instead her response has always been “I’m sorry but were you just stupid enough to threaten me?” She has never in all these years put up with it or taken a bribe and she’s had many many of both shoved down her throat. “Prison or Paris” Perry has told her over and over and over for years and her response is always “I’m sorry but were you just stupid enough to threaten and bribe me? Fuck you! ” And that’s how things have been for seven years. Status quo and corruption and half ass is not in her DNA. Her Granddad taught her she is worth so much more than that and deserves so much better than that. He was police. His name is on the police department where he was Chief to this day and no one remembers who the hell his attacker was but they remember the goodness of her Granddad, Chief Hall. Cynthia is in all ways her Granddad’s Granddaughter to her core. If you have a problem with that, your character just sucks and you need to pull your head out of your ass. Crime and corruption and status quo are not going to be tolerated because as it turns out we don’t have to put up with it. We are not to tolerate perverted justice. Martin Luther King Jr put it so well when he said “Injustice for one is Injustice for all.” We don’t have to put up with it, we don’t sign our name to it and it will not be tolerated.
